Bite Into a Kadak Chai Masala Cake

The concept of a kadak cup of Masala Chai originated in the Indian subcontinent, and the beverage has now gained immense popularity all over the world. The variety of combinations available for flavouring a cup of tea are innumerable, but the traditional cup of chai, infused with rich Indian spices, is still a favourite. 

Celebrating these flavours in a joyous fluffy dessert is the Kadak Chai Masala Cake! A simple recipe that draws the rich essence of a timeless Indian condiment, Tea Masala.

Kadak Chai Masala Cake

INGREDIENTS
100g Softened unsalted butter
50g powdered sugar
1 tin Milkmaid
1 cup warm milk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
Chopped cashews
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
METHOD
> Mix butter and sugar. Add milkmaid and beat for 5-6 mins. Add the flour, milk, baking powder and baking soda to the mix. Add vanilla essence.
>Continue to beat, till batter consistency is reached
> Preheat the oven to 160 Degree C 
> Dust pan with butter and flour
> Add one layer of batter, and top it with some cashews and sprinkle Gulabs Tea Masala. Pour another layer of the batter and top it again with cashews and Gulabs Tea Masala. 
> Bake it for 35 mins at 180 degree C
> Insert a skewer into the loaf cake till there is no wet batter on that.
> Allow the cake to cool down for 15 mins, and bite into the subtle flavours of Kadak Chai Cake!
