Call it kheer or payasam, this ancient traditional dessert draws its root from many Asian countries. However, now served as a popular Indian dessert across the globe, is mainly due to its association with temples. Over the years, kheer has taken many forms from being cooked with various fruits and nuts, or even vegetables like bottle gourd.

INGREDIENTS
1 250 g Apple - Large peeled and grated
400 ml Whole Milk
5 tablespoon Gulabs Thandai
2 tablespoons sugar
Grated almonds and pistachios (for garnish)
Dried Rose petals (for garnish)
METHOD
1. In a thick bottomed pan, pour milk and let it boil and simmer for 5-6 minutes.
2. Add grated apples and sugar and let the milk reduce to half.
3. Add Gulabs Thandai to it. Cook for 2 more minutes and switch of the heat.
4. Your Apple Thandai Kheer is ready!
5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, and garnish with grated almonds and pistachios.
